In the lush landscapes of North Bend, Washington, the Little Si Trail offers towering evergreen forests to sweeping views of the Cascade Mountains.

The adventure begins at the Little Si Trailhead, located just off Interstate 90, about 40 miles east of Seattle. Ample parking and restroom facilities make it easy to prepare for this short but rewarding hike.

One of the highlights of the Little Si Trail is the breathtaking viewpoints that dot the path. Roughly halfway through the hike, you are rewarded with panoramic vistas of the Snoqualmie Valley and surrounding mountains. These picturesque overlooks provide the perfect opportunity to pause, catch your breath, and soak in the natural beauty that surrounds you.

While traversing the trail, keep an eye out for the various species of wildlife that call this area home. From songbirds to squirrels and possibly even the occasional deer or black bear (I haven't heard of anybody spotting a black bear on this popular hike but they are in the area).

As with any outdoor adventure, it's important to practice Leave No Trace principles and respect the natural environment. Stay on designated trails, pack out any trash, and refrain from disturbing plants or wildlife.

Whether you're a seasoned outdoor enthusiast or simply looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, the Little Si Trail offers the scenic wonders of North Bend.

With this hike only taking about 2 hours to complete I drove 25 minutes East to continue the exploration of North Bend and found Franklin Falls.

Part two:

The Franklin Falls trail winds through lush green forests, moss-covered boulders, and alongside the soothing sounds of the South Fork Snoqualmie River.

The highlight of the Franklin Falls hike is undoubtedly the breathtaking Franklin Falls itself. Standing at approximately 70 feet tall, this cascading wonder is a beauty and raw power. Whether you're admiring it from afar or getting up close to feel the mist on your skin, the sight and sound of Franklin Falls are impressive.

There were a few fellow hikers who dropped their gear and took a dip in the chilly waters bellow the waterfall.

If you're looking for a nice day trip from Seattle I would recommend these two spots  without hesitation!
